Inbox messages could not be read, repaired folder, all messages disappeared
Inbox messages could not be read, repaired folder, all messages disappeared, Closed Thuderbird, Deleted inbox.msf, restarted, did not recover messages.
Inbox file size is only 67 kb now so it looks like all previous messages are lost (have sent two test messages which are now there)
All messages were downloaded from server so is this a complete loss?
There is a strange folder that holds my individual account folders titled "xqgm4d34.default" is that normal? Does not seem to show up in the path of any of the instructions to get to account folders.
Folder path to account folders is: C:\Users\Ann\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xqgm4d34.default\Mail
Thanks for any help. Really need to recover these emails if at all possible and need to know if I need to change clients if this is an ongoing issue. Cannot afford to have this happen again.
Have other accounts on the same server and did not have the issue. In the account impacted the account folders besides the inbox folder were not effected (junk and archive folders).

Inbox messages could not be read
Can you explain that in more detail?
"xqgm4d34.default" is your Thunderbird profile folder. What's strange with it?
1. Try the instructions here: Disappearing Mail If that doesn't work
2. If your Thunderbird account is setup using POP3 and the original folder hasn't been compacted then you can use an add on to recover deleted messages, that should bring them back. Recover Deleted Messages
