How do I delete messages from the server after downloading to Thunderbird?
After I download my messages from the server to Thunderbird, they stay on the server. How do I set it up so that when a message is downloaded to Thunderbird, they are deleted from the server? I receive @40-50 emails/day. I have had Thunderbird for @ a week. I have downloaded about 300 plus emails this past week. When going to the server, all 300 plus emails are still on the server. When I was using Eudora, the instant they were downloaded to my computer, they were deleted from the server. P.S. I use Mailwasher to review and categorize for Blacklisting, etc. Now when I open it up, all 300+ emails show instead of only the new ones that have not been downloaded to Thunderbird. I could not find out this info in account settings nor optins.

Thanks for your reply. I had gone through all my accounts a couple of times before your response. It will delete emails from the server with POP accounts. (I have IMAP). However, I did find the solution. If I move them to a folder, they will delete from the server. However, if I leave them in the inbox, they will stay on the server which was my problem. So, now, even if I don't have to time to review all of them, I moved them to a "Followup" folder. Thanks again for your assistance.
IMAP and POP function differently. See The difference between IMAP and POP3
