My Firefox has lost all standard tabs and will no longer search using Google?
Today my former excellent Firefox lost all it's memory. My standard tabs in the upper bar are all gone. It constantly only wants to search in Yahoo, which I hate. I want it back as it was yesterday. I want all my tabs back and I want it to search using Google. I have tried to set-up an account and to sync but nothing works as it keeps going back to a blank new start up with no tabs and Yahoo search.

Do you mean that you lost the bookmarks?
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.
- Places Maintenance: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/
If the Places Maintenance extension can't repair the places.sqlite database file then remove all places.sqlite file(s) in the Firefox profile folder to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database file from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
Sometimes being forced to use a particular home page or search engine is caused by an unwanted extension. Firefox doesn't include any extensions when you first install it, so anything that you did not install yourself is potentially suspicious. You can review your extension on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Command+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over anything on the right side. If in doubt, disable or if obviously unwanted, remove.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled/removed extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
