I have downloaded several types of audio files on my android, and they play rightaway, but they are not able to be found anywhere in the phone after I STOP the playback.

This happens with any file, how can I locate the file once downloaded, or how can I change settings to have the file to download to my SD Card instead?

Did you open or downloaded those files? In the first case files are downloaded to Temp and after use they are deleted.

I have done that but the files are no where to be found. Is there something else that I need to do to ensure that they are saved there? It doesn't seem that they are saved anywhere on the phone at all!

Okay so here's the scenario. I download a file, and instead of it going to the download folder, it automatically plays it. I stop the playback, and immediately go to the download folder. There is no file there. Also, this is something that happens on Android.

If the file is playing in Firefox then it is not downloaded. You would need to long press on the playing file and select save to download the file.
