I would like different toolbars for different things. When I'm at work, I want a toolbar that only shows my bookmarked sites. I want to toggle bookmarks.
I want to be able to toggle bookmarks. I only ask this because at work, I've 2 different times where our pc's have had to be serviced and I've lost all of my saved sites I use every day. I can log in to my personal Firefox account, but I do not want the bookmarks that I use at home to be displayed on my browser. I want work-related bookmarks at work, and personal bookmarks at home. I created 2 different profiles, but I learned that your bookmarks get copied to the other profile ? why? what's the point in creating a different profile if everything that's already on the other profile gets copied onto the new profile.

A new profile doesn't have any of your old bookmarks -- unless you connect it to your Firefox Account.
I don't think there is a way to use a single Firefox/Sync Account with different sets of bookmarks. If you have an extra email address (or you don't mind signing up for another one with Outlook, Yahoo, or Gmail, for example) then you could have a second Firefox Account and only Sync that with work and optionally a second profile at home.
You might also create regular bookmark backups of your work bookmarks so you can easily restore them. For example, you can email yourself a copy for quick storage. There are two formats available:
- JSON format - "Backup" and "Restore" feature - see: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer
- HTML format - "Export" and "Import" feature - see: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks, Import Bookmarks from an HTML file
Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.{web link} I use an add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.
Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.
If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.
Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.
