Installed Firefox 8.01 yesterday (12-1-11) to replace Firefox 7.?). I thought it deletes unneeded FF 7 files. I ran the .exe file, thought installation went OK. Today, it keeps crashing on start-up with a message pop-up that a report will be sent to Mozilla about this. I can't check on Crash ID # or do any other things recommended, involving working with the Firefrox menu because Firefox won't open at all.

Hi,

You can try installing it afresh after deleting the Mozilla Firefox folder in Program Files (x86) and also the Mozilla directory in the Application Data folder.

Hi Wilfred,

I didn't delete anything, but did try to reinstall Firefox 8.0.1 on top of whatever Firefox files were already in my computer. Most every time I tried to download Firefox 8.01 again, but each time, it failed to download. Finally, I tried another attempt to download it and it seemed to download. I completed the installation process as instructed.

And it worked. Or seems to work. This reply is being sent through the Firefox 8.01 browser after the "successful" installation. . I hope this installation will continue working well, as it is now!

Mike
