In Windows when I type a word into the address bar it performs a Google search. However, in Ubuntu when I do the same thing it takes me to the OpenDNS search that normally appears with a DNS error. What can I do to point the Firefox address bar search to Google?

So far I've tried the "about:config" "keyword.URL" fix but this has no effect. Also, if I use the default DNS on my router rather than OpenDNS the address bar search operates as it should, opening a Google search.

Thanks for the help, Ben

That probably means that you've set the DNS servers to OpenDNS and you need to change them to get rid of it.

Thanks for the link cor-el. Looks like there is a lot of good info there.

I'm hoping to keep OpenDNS as my DNS server and be able to use the Firefox address bar as a search bar.
