Can't open Firefox on Yosemite
I updated to Macintosh Yosemite yesterday, and I cannot open Firefox. I had 33.0.1 at the time and have since updated to 33.0.3, but this did not solve the problem.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to Troubleshoot the issue and to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Hi Jayakumar,
Thanks so much for responding. I am unable to open Firefox in Safe Mode. When I double click on the application icon while holding the option key, the appears to start, but immediately crashes, just as it does normally. I've already moved several plugins from "Internet Plugins" into the disabled folder, but the same results.
I was, however, able to create a new user profile with the command line suggestion. So how do I get my bookmarks and such from the old default profile to this new profile? Or should I use this new one only to do further troubleshooting?
Thanks so much for your help.

Nevermind, I found instructions. Thanks again.

Well, that was short-lived victory. Before I could move the bookmarks and passwords from my old profile to the new, Firefox started crashing again on startup with the new profile.
Something is keeping FIrefox from recognizing the new profile on startup. I managed to get my passwords and bookmarks moved over from the old profile to the new, but the only way I can open Firefox now is to start up the profile manager and open the new profile. Even if I click on the checkbox for "Use the selected profile without asking at startup," it still will not open the new profile.
It does open the new profile through the Profile Manager, but if you quit and try to open again through the app, it reverts to the old profile path, which in this case has been deleted. I've looked over the profile.ini file, and everything looks fine. Terminal does through this message when new profile opens:
Can't open input server /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
At present, it's working, but I'd rather not have to go through Profile Manager every time I want to use App.

Please delete the old profile, after back-up and try with single profile.
Hi Jayakumar,
I've already deleted the old profle, leaving just the new one. But I still can't open the app. It crashes every time. I can only open the app via the profile manager.
My only saving grace the past few days has been FirefoxDeveloperEdition, which seems unaffected by this. I was able to clone my bookmarks over using XMarks. But I'd really like to use the regular edition of Firefox as well.
