Hi guys,

I tried to create a Firefox profile when running CMD as an administrator. However, I noticed that when running CMD as an administrator I am able to create a Firefox profile successfully only when targeting the profile path under "admin" user path. If I were to try and create a Firefox profile for the Windows account "demo" it does not work and when I switch user account to demo and start Firefox it will manually recreate a new Firefox default account.

Have anyone know how to solve this issue?

To create a new profile Firefox would have to access the profiles.ini file to register the new profile and it is possible the profile gets registered in the wrong profiles.ini file and isn't accessible because it isn't registered in the profiles.ini file of that user.

Did you look in the location of the profile to see if it isn't there?

Hi cor-el,

Thanks for the prompt reply!

I noticed that when I am trying to create a Firefox profile "defaultdemo" for the Windows account "demo" while running CMD as an administrator, there are no profiles.ini created.

However, profiles.ini are present when I run CMD as an administrator and creating a Firefox profile "defaultdemo" for the Windows account that I used to run as an administrator.

I am suspecting that I would need to run CMD with the same account that I am trying to create a Firefox profile under. However, my vbs script needs to create a default profile for all Windows user account that have no default Firefox profile available. Is that possible?

Anyone know how to solve this issue? Thanks!
