Hi, you have 2 of these installed Avira SafeSearch Plus 1.6.7.532

Try disabling both and see what happens.

I've disabled both and tried again - but with no success. Timed out error stays the same.

How are you connected to the router? And what your asking seems to be something for Netgear support to help with as this is for FF Browser end user help forum.

Would you take a look at this article please :

Scroll down to the section "The problem only happens with certain
websites" (the connection has timed out)

I`m connected to the router via USB LAN or via WLAN, I can choose but neither way worked.

I would use the Ethernet connection. That is what they recommend you use. Never use wifi to connect to router if your doing changes. Forgot to mention it's best to use ethernet connected directly from laptop or computer to router to make changes.

Thanks to all. I have recognized that it doesn`t work because the browser cannot address the repeater properly (as it is not an internet address). I still not know why it works with the router´s address, which is also not internet, but it is connected via Ethernet (the repeater works only by Wifi). So I have given up and will look for a repeater that also has an USB port. I hope that will work. Thomas
