I can't install firefox on windows xp
I have recently posted a question because firefox would not open on my desk which uses XP and has version 3 on it. I have tried restarting, also looking at my firewall settings and turning it off and then on again but no luck. I could not start it in Safe Mode. So I uninstalled firefox and have tried to upload it again using Internet Explorer as my browser. However something is blocking it. Internet Explorer does not like the website and gives me unsafe messages. I have looked at the security settings and allowed Firefox although it seems to open as a http site without the 's' whereas my laptop using windows 7 has the 's'. I put in the 's' manually and it accepted it as a safe site but again blocked the download. Any suggestions gratefully accepted. I hate using Internet Explorer and have been using Firefox for years with not trouble until now.

If you are having problems with downloading firefox via Internet Explorer. You can either use an external downloader, or maybe ask something on the IE Forum.
Hi edmeister - so far so good - it's downloaded although Explorer told me it was an unsafe site again but it seems to have downloaded and opened up OK and the best thing is that it's saved all my settings and websites so hopefully it won't disappear again. I'd love to know what on earth was going on and why it wouldn't open. Thanks for your help. Sue
