Screen Shot of the Problem
Hi Joe84.
Making the browser fullscreen is different from making the video fullscreen.
In your screenshot, the browser is fullscreen but the video is not.
To make the video fullscreen, please click on the icon in the bottom-right corner of the video.
To make the browser fullscreen, press F11. To auto-hide the toolbars, right-click on an empty space on the tab bar and select Hide Toolbars. To exit, press F11 again.
Dear Kenkon
Thx for reply, in my screen shot is you tube after I already pressed the button on right hand lower corner, I am not talking about browser full screen at all, I am only talking about you tube.
I do not wish to hide the tools bars, and even if I hide it the tabs will be still showing, you tube full screen was totally full screen without the need for all that, for some reason it ends up now at the browsing search bar and tabs, doesn't cover all screen as it looks on screen shot, have a look again please, it is the fullest screen that there is now, and I want back my normal Total Full screen that used to be, is it a you tube settings problem?? or Firefox?? or why suddenly is happening?!
Fullscreen video is still working for me on Youtube.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Clear Firefox's Cache
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
Does that make any difference?
(2) Remove your youtube.com cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
- right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
- (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
- click the padlock or globe icon in the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page and testing fullscreen again. Does that help?
Dear Jscher 2000
I tried all the steps you have mentioned carefully and exactly as you mentioned, it did not solve the issue, problem remains :(
Your help is appreciated though, thank you , I really don't know how to solve it at all !!
Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
Any improvement?
Done it all, No improvement unfortunately , problem remains !!
Does this only happen in full screen mode of the player?
Is there a hide controls in the right-click context menu?
Yes it happens only when trying to full screen the you tube, I could not find any hide controls button in the right click context menu !!
I am very familiar with places such a menu options could be, I looked for it in every possible way, updated my Adobe Flash to latest version, everything was fine 2 weeks ago maybe.
I don't allow automatic updates even unless i give permissions, yet this happened, very irritating
