Facebook has suggested I refresh my browser {Firefox } to fix a problem I have with their site...can't see mine or my friends pics....

You can not refresh and keep your settings, because the point of a refresh is to reset any settings that may be causing the issue.
I'd suggest the refresh: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
