If a Firefox window appears when you start your computer without you starting Firefox yourself, it is because you have something in your Startup folder Login Items listStartup Applications list triggering it or malware.
Firefox item is in the Startup folder
- Click the Windows button.
- Go to .
- From the programs list, select the folder.
- Search for Firefox or a document that causes Firefox to open in the list of startup items. If you found one, right-click it and select . Confirm the deletion by clicking .
Malware causing Firefox to load on startup

Firefox item is in your account's Login Items
- Open System Preferences.
- Go to the Accounts panel.
- Select the name of the user from the left-hand side.
- Click the tab.
- Search for Firefox in the list and select it.
- Click the button to delete Firefox from the list.

(Ubuntu)
- Open the menu.
- Go to the sub-menu and select .
- Search for Firefox in the list and select it.
- Click the button to delete Firefox from the list.
