Although I've searched online, and although I've reviewed my security exceptions for my browser, I still have my password remembered for a site that shouldn't be. I can't ADD a website where the password shouldn't be remembered. How do I rectify that? I've gone through the website itself but no where does it enact this feature either. It's purely the browser.

A detail like a website remembering you (log you in automatically) is stored in a cookie.

You can remove the cookies from a website to make the website forget about you. "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

There is a difference between remembering the name and password in the Password Manager and a "remember me" check box on a web page to log you in automatically. The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and that is send to the server. If this "remember me" cookie is removed or gets corrupted or is not send to the server then the server won't remember you and you will have to sign in once again. You can remove this "remember me" cookie to make the website forget you and require you to sign in again. You can inspect and manage the saved passwords in the Password Manager.

  • Firefox > Preferences > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
