I am trying to set up my built in webcam to be able to take an online test. I verified that the permissions were correct, but still doesn't recognize it. I tried to look it up in the forums but found nothing to help out with this current situation.

Are you sure this is an issue with Firefox and not with your webcam installation, such as driver problems?

Does the webcam work with other browsers?

Websites can use built-in features to ask permission to use the camera (or you can grant permission using the Page Info dialog, Permissions panel), or they can use the Flash plugin. Firefox no longer supports other plugins (e.g., VLC, Java, Silverlight), so hopefully the site doesn't require those. Chrome and Edge doesn't support those plugins either, so that's a fair comparison. (Internet Explorer 11 probably does run all of those if needed.)

Make sure your Flash is updated (latest version is 26.0.0.151)
