Since I can't find a support area for Aurora specifically, I'm posting this here.

Why is it when I mark certain addons as still working in Aurora, it sends the report that they are still compatible but then wants to disable or remove them anyway? What good is reporting them as fine if it doesn't trigger some kind of code to leave them alone?

When Aurora restarts, I have to go through everything all over again and re-enable the addons because they really do work. Though I don't restart often, it's still a pain.

Make sure that you do not use that profile with other Firefox versions.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache, extensions.rdf) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is an update.

I actually uninstalled Aurora, installed the latest beta FF which is 7.0 (I think,) reinstalled Aurora and so far, it's all working fine. All of my addons work again, but I'm not telling anyone because that's how they broke in the first place ;o)

Mozilla (Firefox) seem to expect that users will use only one version of Firefox at any particular time. Shortly after introducing the new channels they did experiment with channel switching using the User Interface (clicking within about Firefox), but quickly withdrew the facility.

If you use two versions of Firefox Beta (fx7) and Aurora (fx8) for instance; then as cor-el said:

Make sure that you do not use that profile with other Firefox versions.

I do understand profiles, but I never have two instances of FF open at the same time and as long as I have only one open, I've never had a problem. In this case, the addons evidently aren't noted as working with Aurora in their coding though they do work so as long as I don't open the addons tab, I'll be fine.

I think it is as good idea to have separate profiles for the different versions even if you do not have them open at the same time, otherwise it is rather like starting Firefox as a newly installed version each time you switch over.

You also need to bear in mind that there are likely to be new releases each six weeks so if you are using Firefox 8 on the Aurora channel with what was initially a Firefox 7 profile, in just over two weeks that profile is going to be affected by an upgrade to Firefox 9 on the Aurora channel and Firefox 8 on the Beta channel.
