Hello,

I have been using an add-on/extension (Calendar Data Extractor) in Google Sheets to extract data from a Google calendar. It used to work perfectly in Firefox but now it no longer appears as an extension when I use Firefox.

I tested it in Chrome and it is still functioning perfectly with Chrome. However, as Firefox is my preferred browser and default browser, I would like to find out if it is a setting in Firefox or a wider issue preventing it from appearing. Perhaps the developer hasn't updated the add-on for Firefox.

The first image below shows it appearing in Chrome. The second image shows what it looks like in Firefox.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi,

just for understanding:

Why can the Firefox source code (view-source) of a website be nearly three times the size compared with Chrome/Opera or when I save the Firefox source code marked and copied and then pasted and saved via an editor?

Example: Firefox 546,6 KiB Chrome/Opera 204,3 KiB via Editor 204,3 KiB (marked and copied Firefox source code)

Hello,

I'm brand new to Firefox (1 week!) and i was doing some copy and pasting in an email (using gmail) and i noticed that every time i tried to paste it would add a space into it. I was copying about 15-20 email addresses so it really slowed me down as i would have to go back and delete the space after the @ symbol every time! Is this a known issue and if so is there a fix? If not is there a way to do a bug report?

Thank you!

Best,

Zac

I am currently running Firefox on desktop (128.4.0esr) version.

The last few addons that I have installed are not working properly. Or rather, they work just fine, but when I close Firefox and re-open it later, they seem to fail to actually enable. I must go to the about:addons page, disable the addon, and then re-enable it for it to actually work. If I do not do this, it will not be on my toolbar, and the Extensions sidebar button does not show the addon in the list. It's as if it isn't properly installed.

After reading this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1420017 I thought maybe my extensions db got corrupted somehow, so I followed their instructions and deleted the extensions.databaseSchema config. And wouldn't you know it, it worked! Once I restarted Firefox, I saw some notifications in the main sidebar menu and was greeted with this: Notifications Once I clicked through them and enabled, everything seemed fine.

However after closing firefox again, the problem comes back. Those exact extensions that I manually approved upon restarting are the ones that are giving me troubles and not enabling properly. An interesting thing I noticed is that these all seem to be extensions that require additional permissions. I enabled the addon and gave them the permissions they requested, so I don't know why they are failing to enable properly on startup.

I want to permanently fix the problem

I'm migrating a bunch of PDFs from an old Windows 8.a computer to a new Windows 11. I located a matrix under settings that offers some choice as to how FF was to handle downloaded PDFs. There are three options: Save, Open, Ask. I want to save only (Opening slows down the migration process). I selected Save in the drop down menu, but FF continue to Open. Can't continue until I solve this problem.

I have a local HTML/Javascript document I use for compressing local image files. It relies on HTMLCanvasElement.toBlob() to achieve the compression in the usual way; a pertinent excerpt:

                   const output = document.getElementById("outputDiv");
                   const blobURL = URL.createObjectURL(file);
                   const img = new Image();
                   img.src = blobURL;
                   // ...
                   img.onload = function () {
                       URL.revokeObjectURL(this.src);
                       const canvas = document.createElement("canvas");
                       canvas.width = img.width;
                       canvas.height = img.height;
                       const ctx = canvas.getContext("2d");
                       ctx.drawImage(img, 0, 0, img.width, img.height);
                       canvas.toBlob(
                           (blob) => {
                               const anchor = document.createElement("a");
                               anchor.download = getNewFileName(file.name); /* uses extension .webm for .webm, .jpg for everything else */
                               anchor.href = URL.createObjectURL(blob);
                               anchor.textContent = "DOWNLOAD";
                               output.append(anchor);
                           },
                           mime, /* set earlier based on file extension: .webm -> "image/webm", everything else -> "image/jpeg"
                           quality / 100    /* (user-specified) */
                       );
                   };

Here's the quirky thing, though: when I'm compressing, say, a .jpeg file (or a .png), clicking on the download link opens a save-file dialog, but when using a .webm file, it opens the compressed image in a new tab! True, I can always then save the image from there (the resulting file is in Firefox's temp folder), but I don't understand the difference in behavior -- and indeed, in at least one other browser I tried (the latest Vivaldi) the download happens as expected regardless of input file type. In all cases the anchor hrefs look like, e.g., "blob:null/724ab85e-53ba-4890-9868-7f1ba27d4278".

Any idea why this is happening? I highly doubt it's the intended behavior.

Browser: Firefox 132.0.2 for Windows. Environment: Windows 10 Home 22H2 version 10.0.19045.
