When I load my website I get a drop down menu that contains outdated information--pages that no longer exist or have been removed from my website, as well as some current pages. How can I remove this so that my home page will appear. This does not happen on Safari, just on Firefox.

== it has been going on for a long time This is my second request for help.

I don't see a drop-down menu on your index page, just the menu in the left div. I loaded every page linked in that main menu, and they all appear to have been last modified on Tuesday July 6, 2010 at 6:00:41PM. (I queried the server your website is hosted on for the "last modified" date for each of those pages.)

Your Firefox installation is probably pulling some of the information for your website from your browser cache.

Try clearing your browser cache, and see if Firefox loads the correct data.

Tools > Clear Recent History... - hit Details and make sure only Cache is selected, then select Everything and hit the Clear Now button.

I followed your directions and restarted my computer. This is really weird. What is happening now is sometimes my web page comes right up and sometimes it doesn't. But when I click on the down arrow at the end of the bar where the URL is, I get the dreaded drop down menu--some items listed there are still on my web site, some are misspelled and inaccurate and some have been eliminated long ago . There are a few of very recent vintage like yesterday.. I tried this with two different URLs and got the same drop down menu. I tried to capture a screenshot of it to send to you, but as soon as I clicked on SnapNDrag it disappeared. By the way it also appeared while I was entering my URL and before it was completed. It looks a little like the Download screen. It has a white background, and each item has a white square for checkoff. When I click on the item it is covered by a broad yellow stripe, like the downloads. Is this a clue? Could this be a problem limited to my computer?

Is there any additional information that would be useful to you?

I hope you can track this down, it is really driving me crazy.

Thanks again for your help.

You can remove items from the location bar drop down list if you highlight them an press the Delete key. That only work if such an entry isn't a bookmark (bookmarks have a yellow star) See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Deleting_autocomplete_entries

You only get outdated pages if they are cached somewhere. That can be in Firefox or in a router or proxy if you use one.

You can reload a page and bypass the cache with:

* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press  Ctrl  +  F5  or press  Shift  +  Ctrl  +  R  (Windows,Linux)
* Press  Shift  +  Cmd  +  R  (MAC)

Thank you for all your help. Using the somewhat simplified info in one of the links, I did the following: Firefox>Preferences>Privacy> Location Bar>Nothing. It worked! The drop down menu is gone. I assume it will affect all drop down menus, but I think that will be OK- I don't know if it will negatively affect the way Bookmarks are displayed, but if it is a problem I will return.
