I like the Google Toolbar and was satisfied with it on Firefox 4. When I upgraded to Firefox 6, the Google Toolbar disapeared. You did state that not all prior toolbars and add-ons were supported and that you would announce whenever they were available. I am still waiting. If a Google Toolbar for Firefox 6 is not yet available, when will it be? If unknown, how do I get Firefox 4 back?

The Google Toolbar "will not be supported on Firefox 5 and future versions."

Why be held hostage to third party toolbar?:

Why would you tie your entire browser use to a third party toolbar, that was never really ever needed, let alone be held hostage to not update Firefox. Google had over a year to update their toolbar for Firefox 4 and the changes for Firefox 5 could have been tested for several months. Google waited a very long time before finally indicating that they would no longer maintain their toolbar for Firefox stating that it was not needed, and that the features were in Firefox. Also be aware that the features are also in their own browser which also does not need or use the Google toolbar. Not only is Mozilla open source, but all information is made available to anyone -- you can even listen in on meetings online yourself or wait for a printed review.

Life without the Google Toolbar.

You might want to check out this article, based on Google's own assessment that features were already in Firefox, and expanded from there.
