Hello,

After a recent FF update, each user is now prompted to enable add-ons, which were enabled before the update. This happens for each user on the computer. The computers are public machines and see dozens of new logins every day. This is pretty confusing to non-technical users and also very annoying. How can I disable this feature for all users on a computer? Thanks in advance.

You will probably need to disable blocklisting and delete the current blocklist.xml file to avoid plugins from getting blocked. That is not really recommended, so be cautious with making such a change.

Thanks for the links! I'll give them a try.

Is this about plugins (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) or about extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)?

Plugins should get disabled after updating unless they aren't up-to-date and were disabled because of security issues.
Some extensions may be getting disabled, especially if they are installed globally.

I am not sure if they are add-ons or extensions. I think they are add-ons. They just need to stop updating each time the browser is run. The above suggestion did not work.

I would assume that this is about extensions that are installed globally (i.e. not in the profile folder).

What are the names of the involved extensions?

If they appear on the about:addons page (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) without a Remove button then that confirms that the extension is installed globally.
