Although bookmarks exist in Favourites, some of them do not display in Firefox
When I installed FireFox I imported all IE8 favourites without problem. Having now saved additional "favourites" I find that, although they physically exist in the Favourites Folder, they do not appear when I look at Bookmarks. Anyone advise me please ??
Thanks,
Ian

Firefox doesn't do an ongoing sync with IE on favorites/bookmarks. As you add new favorites in IE, Firefox's import remains frozen in time.
If you want to have your actual, current, live IE favorites available in Firefox, check out the PlainOldFavorites extension. Unfortunately, the updated version seems to be stuck in the Add-on site approval process. I don't know why it hasn't been approved. If you want to try it anyway, you can find the latest update on the "Versions" page here:

Sometimes Firefox's importer is not able to get all of your IE Favorites/Favourites for one reason or another. The workaround is to use an intermediary format that both IE and Firefox can agree upon.
- Export favorites from IE to an HTML file: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/add-view-organize-favorites (Export Favorites is one of the topics listed at the bottom of the page)
- Import the HTML file into Firefox: Import Bookmarks from an HTML file
Since this can result in a lot of duplication, you may want to use the Library dialog (Bookmarks organizer) to drag the already-imported IE favorites into a sub-folder. You can open the Library dialog using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+b
- Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks
Any luck?
Note: Some users have reported that rather than appearing on the Bookmarks Menu, the imported favorites were placed in the "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder, which you can find at the lower left of the Library dialog. In that case, simply drag them to the desired location.

jscher2000 --- Thanks for explaining that all to me. Personally, I think FF would greatly benefit from synching with IE.
I shall just run with both programmes, each configured to suit certain requirements.
Thanks for your help.
