We have had our sympatico.ca account for decades, but have recently created a gmail address as we will probably leave Bell, for a number of reasons, and I understand that we will then lose all remaining sympatico emails. We recently switched from Outlook to Thunderbird, but my guess is that we will no longer need Thunderbird, and gmail will be easily transportable, though it has some rather distasteful features, limited storage being one. My question is, is there a way to migrate the emails away from Bell and retain them. This doesn't seem to be a strictly Thunderbird question, though I'm sure it has arisen numerous times in the past. I have just logged on for the day and the Side Bar has changed. It now has an extra layer making it wider which now pushes a highly used website page off the screen which is very annoying because I don't want to reduce it's zoom any more.

I use the Side Bar to bookmark various links within this website as shortcuts to navigate it.

How do I remove this unwanted extra layer?

The unwanted extra layer is the bar down the left showing my Bookmark icon on the top and the Settings icon on the bottom neither of which I want or need and this is causing the extra width to the sidebar which is upsetting my viewing. How do I remove this new bar?

In Windows 11, the Address Book is accessed via an icon on top left of the TB main page or Alt+2. In Windows 11 is there a similar key combination to view the folders below Local Folders?

I have been using Thunderbird for ~ 5 years & had to buy a new pc. Now the updated new Thunderbird is repeatedly have issues with each email account showing the automatic Login for new mail is failing to work. The error message says 'LOGIN TO (EMAIL ADDRESS) ACCT FAILED: LOGIN TO SERVER POP.CENTURYLINK.NET WITH USERNAME (EMAILADDRESS) FAILED'.

Oddly enough sometimes this does NOT happen when I restart the program & everything seems to work fine without me changing a thing. Is this an issue occurring system wide now or am I missing something?

When I opened T-bird today, the entire account appeared to be missing, along with all of the associated messages.

I had not used T-bird for about a week, and so it had updated automatically to v.128.5.0esr from v.128.4.3esr. I did go to the Help > TroubleshootingInformation > Mail and News Accounts, and there's nothing there. Similarly, I went to ... > Profiles > about:profiles and did not see my default profile there.

Is this a problem of the most recent update? How do I restore my previous email account and settings?

Appreciate anyone's assistance with this.

since a few mins ago, 30/11/2024 12 Am IST i have observed that MSN webpage specifically : https://www.msn.com/en-in?ocid=wispr&pc=u477 auto opens every few mins, i have no idea why, can anyone help me?

On the newest firefox update on Windows PC My PDF reading has been not displaying PDFs correctly on Firefox I tested on other PDF views and they work as normal (All images are normally white with black text PDFs) Sometimes it displays nothing at all (as seen in Image 1) Some pages will display correctly but the rest won't (as seen in Image 2) Some pages will display text but strangely (as seen in Image 3) It does flash white sometimes while scrolling but it still doesn't show text

On 11/21/24 at 12:43 PM all incoming and outgoing email stopped. There are currently over 250 emails in our account that I cannot download. I've deleted the 3 files as recommended by one contact, shut down, and restarted Thunderbird with no success. Thunderbird was supposedly up to date but I noted another update effective 11/27. Current version 128.5. Equipment is Dell desk top GTK5PC6 running Win11 (this may be the problem but I'm starting here first - Win help is anything but). The desk top is 64 bit with 500mb hd, Intel Core X-64 processor, 16GB ram.

After updating to 128.4.4esr I can no longer send email - NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED. I can create a new message, hit Ctl-S to save and I get a dialog box of "Status: Creating mail message..." and a progress indicator that is at 100%. I also get an error of "Unable to save your messages as a draft. Sending of the message failed".

If I attempt to send and email I get the same creating mail message and an error dialog box saying "Sending of the message failed".

In the error console I see

I looked at my ~/.thunderbird directory and the permissions are 700. I'm on Ubuntu 24.04.

When I turned on my laptop today my Firefox browser started running an update when it was done I could not open the browser. I get two messages.

  firefox.exe-Entry Point Not Found ----The procedure entry point
      ?toString@Decimal@blink@@QEBA_NPEAD_K@Z could not be located in the dynamic link l. 
        library C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\xul.dll.

After update of TB to 128.4.3est via openSuse (15.5) the calendar no longer displays any events. Is this a settings problem? I read of this problem on Win and MAC but don't see any postings related to Linux. Another post said that events are stored and recoverable. Suggestions appreciated.

I just noticed on today's upgrade that Thunderbird showed it upgraded in 32 bit but the Help > About field shows 64 bit. Why is it doing that? Do I possibly have an issue or will all be ok, lol. I'm just confused as to why it would do that and want to make sure there is no problems. Thanks for your help...Debb

I do not know what exactly causes Firefox (on Windows 11 anyway) to block the copy and paste functions, but i found the easiest fix possible :-) Firstly, for me it never grayed out the copy option on right mouse click, so it seemed like copy is possible - just that it did not copy anything at all! The CTRL / C also did not copy anything - but in MS Edge everything worked just fine.

I had cleared out the browser cache in FF - did not change anything (but maybe i should have closed FF and reopened it anew and things would have worked again - instead i got frustrated and used CCleaner to clean out the online trash in all browsers etc. But CCleaner also had a hickup due to some nag popup for their paid version, so i turned off the laptop and restarted it anew, then CCleaner ran normally, cleaned up all www garb.

Now i opened FF - and guess what, copy and paste worked just fine again.

Go figure what the cause was / is, but a www trash clean pc seems to solve it, that's at least something.

In the Android version of Thunderbird if I receive a message from a group of bulletin board for example how do I reply only to the sender and not to the entire group?
