I am using Firefox 40.0.2 on a Windows 8.1desk top and Trusteer Rapport appears to have been turned off and Entrust claims to be recognizing one (& only one) of my financial sites. I did not download Entrust, but is it a part of Firefox and downloaded onto my computer that way?

I emailed the company asking if this was malware or were they legit (I wouldn't expect a useful response from a malware group!) and I quickly received a response from an Account Specialist. i have attached the response below:

"Thank you for contacting Entrust Datacard. The reason you see the green bar in the address area is because the investment companies you are visiting are showing you they have the safest security certificate purchased though Entrust Datacard. This is not something you would have downloaded. In the future if you see this green bar you will know you are visiting a secured site. If you would like more information about Entrust Datacard you are welcome to visit www.entrust.com

By the way, after much fiddling I have Trusteer running properly - with some overlap between the sites the two services cover.

Entrust is not part of Firefox.

If it's this -- http://www.entrust.com/products/entrust-identityguard/ -- it definitely looks like something that costs money.

But maybe it's actually an intruder. Could you run some malware scans using additional tools, that is, ones other than your usual security software. Our support article "Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware" lists a number of cleaning products other Firefox users have found helpful. If they behave suspiciously, for example, asking for a payment, you may have a problem that would benefit from the specialized forums listed in the article.

Thank you for the advice. I tried this but it did not identify it as a problem. I can't find where it is hiding on my computer. It also seems to stop Trusteer Rapport from working and even though I have told Trusteer to show the address bar arrow, it won't do it and just now don't seem to be able to open Trusteer's console! I'll keep hunting for it.

Gotcha, didn't realize this was in the "site identity button" area next to the address, I thought it was some kind of pop-up message.

I appreciate you taking the time to help. I still wonder why the 2 sites that overlap with Rapport actually do so, as they both are sites that have recommended and provided links to Rapport. I could ask them, but I think I'll just let my curiosity rest. Again thanks
