who or what reads my emails after reading an article on bbc news I am asking this and the section below is from my gmail account

Homepage:  https://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird Has access to: Gmail Read, send, delete, and manage your email Access given on: December 2, 2017

This is from my gmail account, does it also apply to my bt account etc? Can I stop you from reading my emails and still use thunderbird? why would you want to read my emails that may have bank details and all sorts of private info? Regards Steve

It is a canned statement from Gmail saying you are using a 3rd party email client, Thunderbird, instead of using their webmail interface. No one is literally reading your email. Especially no one here. Support on this forum is provided by Thunderbird users that volunteer their time to answer questions. Gmail prays on those that have a low understanding of how email works. And it is effective.

I do not need to read anything not related to you thinking someone at Thunderbird is reading your email. It is not true. That was your question not some world-wide conspiracy theory.
