You can check that those pages aren't set as multiple homepages.
You can check the homepage setting.
- Options/Preferences -> Home: Home
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-set-the-home-page
Firefox supports multiple homepages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

I found "Question Tools" but no "Get email updates". The options are: Edit this question, Stop email updates, Subscribe to Feed. When I clicked on Stop email updates it changed to get email updates, so I clicked on it again and it changed back to stop email updates.
Ok, here we go. I located all the messages in the junk folder.

If you see "Stop email updates", that means that you should be getting email notifications (updates). When you click "Stop email updates", that's when the email notifications will stop and you would have to click "Get email updates" to receive them again.
If you've never received email notifications, then I really don't know what's going on (sorry ....).

You posted this while I was typing my previous message .....
Kick your email provider's derrière for me - they should never put Mozilla notifications in the junk folder !

Loyall,
If you had done the screen shot I asked for we might have seen the problem in the url.
With a change of subject it can be better to start a new question so others can gain advice from it as well but since you didn't here's a possibility.
If your emails are delivered in conversation view if you move or delete one then some email systems will carry that action through with all the following emails in that conversation. This is more likely to happen when you direct an email to junk. If you create a filter (as in Gmail) to direct certain emails to junk you have to be very careful not to create a wild card by including a specific symbol such as @ as it is possible this will affect all others with the same symbol.
Emails filtered to junk or trash will not create a notification or show in your inbox.
