how do I movew my bookmarks & password storage from my old laptop to my new one?

my old laptop died but i salvaged the HDD, how can I get my bookmarks to my new machine ? old machine had Firefox 4.0 on Vista new machine has Firefox 4.0 on Win7 I tried using the import option in the bookmarks menu but can't find where the Bookmarks are stored.
