Hotmail edit/format toolbar. The only thing that shows up are the font choices. The others are there, (invisible),, the text or Icons are not showing. Tips show when hovering. How do I get them to be visible?

Windows XP and Vista, both up to date.

They are visible in IE and on FireFox in Windows 7. How do I get them to be visible in FireFox on XP and Vista?

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

  • Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
  • Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
  • Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
  • Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).

If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

Thanks, those are good ideas, although the menu options I have are somewhat different. I didn't have anything blocked.

Looks like it was a Hotmail problem, as it simply went away the next day. I thought maybe just poking around in the menus had done it, but it was corrected on the other two computers without my doing anything.

Thanks for your info,
