FF or Google or Extreme Security cause? Upon opening FF, it crashes occasionally. I have version 3.6.23 with a Google FF search page and I use Zone Alarm Extreme Security's latest firewall, etc. When it does crash, I get a message as follows: A script on this page may be busy or it may have stopped working. You can stop the script now or you can continue to see if the script will complete. The script is chrome://zonealarm_extreme_security/content/ctoolbar.js:412

Thanks for your help, Swarnava. However, I had already ticked "yes" to all four items of firefox.exe in Application Control and similarly in all four boxes of Mozilla FF's crashreporter\firefox.exe.

I am leery of upgrading to FF7 based on past experience. When I upgraded to FF5, my ZA Extreme Security firewall wouldn't allow the previous ZA "Check Security" toolbar to be installed. According to them, revisions to browsers (not just FF) were coming out so fast that ZA couldn't keep up to them. I now just have a "Security" button that doesn't seem to do much of anything. Perhaps it will flash red or something should the need arise.

Four solutions for me were indicated but I see only two. Did I miss something? Time for a late lunch.

You dnt need to worry, addons are just shortcut of antibanner virtual keyboard web reputatuion, but if your web component is on and antivirus say you are protected then all is good, the rest of the addon will release asap via database update

No idea what you just stated. My knowledge of computers out of 10 is 1-2, on a good day that is *LOL*. I will assume that "the rest of the addon will release asap via database update" refers to version updates to FF 3.6.23 although I keep getting ominous messages from FF that my current browser won't be supported much longer. The editors of CNET give a glowing recommendation for FF7 with user reviews running the usual mixed bag. Maybe what I will do is contact the technical section of ZA via a chat room discussion and see if my latest ZA version can handle FF7. I will quote the same script message as outlined in my original email to FF.

I have to download a slightly newer version of ZA tonight, Lordy. Will download FF7 tomorrow when I have more time. It will be interesting, no doubt.

Firefox 3.6.23 will still be updated with security updates, so there is currently no urge to update to Firefox 7.0.1.

Thanks, Cor-el. However in the process of updating my Zone Alarm Extreme Security, I'm into a whole other problem. When I tried to uninstall my current version of ZA in order to update to the newer version (ZA techie's advice), I couldn't recall my Administrator password in Program Control of my PC. His advice last night was to go into Program Control and delete ZA, then follow the steps as per 2 other links which he provided - that I installed to my Desktop.

The ZA techie has sent me a HUGE list of steps I should take to overcome this but I see this morning that his preamble is "The ONLY way to remove a ZA password that is forgotten...is to remove the database files associated with True Vector, as follows".

Before I go into all of this, I'm going to try one other ZA password that I do recall (while in Program Control) on my PC - can't see how this would work. ZA has stated that their firewall is compatible with FF7 so that issue is not a concern. I read your Mozilla link above and understand now that there is no urgency to update to FF7 but do you foresee any reason not to?

Happy, happy day! Seems that the so-called Administrator password needed to uninstall ZA was in actuality my ZA password so the uninstall of the old version 10.1.035.000 and install of the new one 10.1.052.000 was an absolute breeze. Pop the champagne. There appears to be no need to update to FF7 just yet so I'll let them fix all the bugs (however many there are) and update from 3.6.23 to 7 sometime in the future.

Thanks to both Swarnava (ZA fully updated now) and Cor-el (FF in the future) for their advice. Reviewing differing opinions sure helps in making decisions.
