Under my 'Local Folders' there is a folder named 'Inbox' I need to delete this folder as it does not have anything stored in it and it is easily confused with my account 'Inbox' folder which is a subfolder of my email account. When I select the Local folder named Inbox there is no option to either delete or even rename the folder?

It's empty. So how does it become confused with any other Inbox?

Since you have not discovered or realised the value of Local Folders, I'd like to suggest to you that you might be happy hiding Local Folders altogether. Unfortunately, the add-on I'd suggest for doing this is no longer being maintained and I couldn't recommend it any longer.

I suggest you collapse Local Folders and do your best to ignore it.

I use other local folders extensively to hold emails for many different classifications....? I very much realize the value of Local Folders...that was not my question.

I do not have and do not want to have a Local 'Inbox' folder. I do not have this on any other PC where I am using Thunderbird, and more importantly.....Why cannot I delete it.... That was the original question... I have no difficulty using any of the other Local Folders.....of which I can delete any of them when I need to...

If there is no option to delete it in the right-click menu then I'd close Thunderbird, open the profile, look for and remove the files Inbox and Inbox.msf from the .../Mail/Local Folders subdirectory.
