I have top sites as my place from which I log on saves having too many buttons on the tool bar - I have now got four rows of 7 can I put more if so how -
I am not good at organizing - I have on my Top sites - which I see when I create a new Tab
Is four rows of seven the limit - or can I add another row - it there actually a limit - sorry I am not good at this
Hoping someone can be pleased to assist

I don't know whether there is a limit, but 5x7 seems to work if I try that. What I did was modify the number of rows and columns this way:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste newtab and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the browser.newtabpage.rows preference and change from 3 to 5, then click OK.
(4) Double-click the browser.newtabpage.columns preference and change from 3 to 7, then click OK.
You should be able to verify the results immediately by pressing Ctrl+t or clicking the new tab ("+") button. How does it look?
(To me, they're too tiny, but you may have a bigger monitor...)
By the way, I'm assuming you use the built-in new tab feature. If you are using an extension to lay out the page, you probably need to look at its Options dialog. You should be able to find an Options button for it on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions.
Thank you I did that but it is stuck at four rows of 7 I shall have to get rid of some - it's a shame I have perhaps too many interests 4 X 7 and tried adding one more - but it did not hackle I think my Monitor is a 22"
Hmmm, I don't think it's a problem of fit: in my little test, the page gets scroll bars if you reduce the size of the window. (Screen shot attached.)
In case one of your extensions is modifying the behavior of the page, could you briefly test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)
Any difference on the new tab page?
Thanks very much it is sorted now and I am best pleased
