Når jeg hidtil har åbnet Thunderbird, så er startsiden sådan, at indgående mails er listet op. Det sker ikke - der er sket et eller andet i dag! Jeg kan ikke åbne og se indgående mails. Jeg har muligvis trykket på et eller andet forkert. Hvoprdan åbner jeg startsiden, og hvordan forbliver den åben når jeg trykker på Thunderbiorg ikonet på skrivebordet? mvh Henning Møller. I have successfully transferred my Thunderbird Profile to a new computer using the article on the website. (Using the instructions in Thunderbird itself didn't work.) I now have my Address Book and Folders set up, but none of the emails from before I installed Thunderbird on the new computer. How can I get these back?

I have a GMX account under Thunderbird on my PC. Now I have an email address twice in Thunderbird, once as Pop and once as IMAP. The first one was Imap and collected all mails, which is important for me. The second POP only current ones. But now the last 5 days are suddenly missing on the first one, which has collected everything. But the mails are on the other account. How can I solve this?

Ich habe ein GMX Account unter Thunderbird auf meinem PC. Jetzt habe ich eine Email Adresse zwei mal in Thunderbird, einmal als Pop und einmal als IMAP. Das erste war Imap und hat alle Mails gesamment, was für mich wichtig ist. Das zweite POP nur aktuelle. Jetzt ist aber auf dem ersten, was alles gesammelt hat fehlen plötzlich die letzten 5 Tage. Die Mails sind aber auf dem anderen Account. Wie kann ich das lösen ?

I'm with Optus,have had TB for many years,always worked perfectly. I made no changes to anything.3 days ago Thunderbird stopped sending or receiving messages. I get message "could not connect to server pop3.optusnet.com.au: the connection was refused". I have 2 email accounts (coghill1@optusnet.com.au and coghill2@optusnet.com.au, logged in via Optus webmail, can send and receive between accounts fine, so I assumed this was a TB fault, but when I reconnected my old Win7 PC (has been offline for months and was working fine) and tried TB, I got exactly the same result. I have previously spent over 3 hours on the phone to Optus tech support when setting up the Win10 desktop as TB didn't want to acknowledge the "myname2" account, got absolutely nowhere with them, clueless, solved by doing backup/restore from Win 7. I'm hesitant to attempt this again as the old system isn't working either. Hope this makes sense. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance. UPDATE: still not working but I've had to install Outlook and it's working perfectly. Thanks for the replies so far.

Hi, I'm not able to open jpg files which are joined in a message. When I want to, I can't find the default application Photos in the choice menu (see the images). I have installed the "visionneuse de photos windows" which replaces the default application Photos for windows 10. I think maybe it is the source of the problem, but I can't find any solution to open images whithout saving them in my computer. I don't understand why the "Photos" defaul application doesn't even appear in the choice, while it is still installed on my computer.

Is there anybody who can help me ? Thanks !

I am having trouble sending emails. I receive a message saying "The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.optusnet.com.au failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again. I am not aware that I have changed any settings. I can receive emails okay but have not been able to send them since 12 January 2025. Please help.

Since January 13, 2025 Thunderbird has not downloaded any emails.

I set the TLS setting from 3 to 1 and closed and re-opened Thunderbird, but still no downloads. I am able to send messages. I have turned off anti-virus programs, but still no downloads.

When I click on the download button or select the File option to download messages, no information is displayed, and nothing happens.

I have check if there are new messages to download from Optus by logging in to Webmail. I have successfully emailed a message from Thunderbird.

I have contributed to Thunderbird development because it is the best, and I have used it since its first availability. Now I am without it.

Please inform me of how to fix the problem.

I have had Thunderbird for years so I know that it isn't in my settings. What is going on?

I was recently upgraded to Ver 128.6.0esr (64 bit) and I am not a fan of this version due to a number of concerns. Although a long term user of Thunderbird, no doubt my problem/s will be 'user error'.

I started off today hoping to put a stop to my New messages from being deleted automatically, even before I get to read them. (Seems to be a big concern and area of frustration with many MT users) Having just changed over from POP3 to IMAP (sick of losing msgs off the server) and following ALL instructions I seem to be going around and around without any +ve results or changes. Mind you this is the 3rd day now and cannot afford to be messing about as I have a business to operate.

First Problem - Re: stopping messages from auto deletion Action #1: I goto >Local folders> Disk Space and select ....'Don't delete any messages' Action #2: I goto >Sync & Storage>Message Sync>'Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer' RESULT: No change. New messages go straight into deleted folder and are highlighted.

Second Problem - Stopping auto Compaction by Following instructions on Mozilla Help page Action #1: I goto >How Can I Configure Compact? Action #2: Select Preferences (formerly Options)>Network & Disk Space>Disk Space Action #3a: Cannot find Preferences Action #3b: or Options

Following instructions for Step #2 I open Application Menu as detailed and GUESS WHAT?.... 'Select Preferences (formerly Options)>Network & Disk Space>Disk Space' is nowhere to be seen.

I am wondering if anyone in the Thunderbird Tech Dev section has ever bothered a) Read and b) follow the instructions given to see if they actually display as described and then work.

Anyhow, can someone give me a straightforward reply and resolve to this matter as I am considering leaving MT and finding another agent that works as it is supposed to?

A windows update failed. Once I had resolved the issues and successfully installed the update, I went into the Thunderbird Inbox folder, to find only unread messages were present. Checking other folders all seemed well. When I search I can find one example of a read message saying it is in the inbox, but I can't see it. I attach images of the search results and my current inbox. Any ideas how to get the missing read messages back?
