Updated to Version 46.0 from 45.0.2. Immediately noticed significant browser slowdown on all web pages. Some much worse (ex: Facebook and banking site). Operating system windows XP SP3 with 4GB RAM. Tried unchecking hardware Excel with no success. After multiple troubleshooting attempts to correct the problem following Mozilla Support suggestions, I reverted to backup made April 15 and using Firefox version 45.0.2. All problems corrected and pages downloading quickly. I have made no other changes to the system as far as installing or removing software/hardware other than updating antivirus DAT files.

A couple of additional things I forgot to note are:

  1. 1 Following the update to Version 46.0 of Firefox, I began receiving Event ID error 10005 in the event log. These were all DCOM errors and were very numerous. I had never experienced this previously.
  1. 2 I am running a Pentium 4 processor 3.0 ghz with hyperthreading

and an NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS video card with the latest driver for Windows XP SP3

This morning, May 09, upgraded to Version 46.0.1, thinking that the problem had been resolved with slow page loading. Immediately following the upgrade from version 45.1.0, the pages once again began loading extremely slow, and scrolling web pages was jerky. After closing firefox, I opened task manager and noticed that the program had not completely unloaded from memory and was slow in doing so. I am going to have to revert back to version 45.1.0 inorder to use the browser efficiently.

I am running Windows XP SP 3 and using Kaspersky anti virus 2016 with the latest DAT updates and module updates.
