Had to reinstall Mozilla/Foxfire. I redownloaded Pinterest button. Once I click on Pinterest button connection to it comes up but it just hangs and never posts.

I use IE and it works.

Any ideas?

Ok, I now have 2 pinterest buttons. 1 from pinterest, 1 from foxfire/mozilla. They both work at getting to pinterest but when I click on what I want to pin to, it just hangs. ????

Are you already logged into your Pinterest account -- does that make any difference?

When I click the P button, I don't leave the site, but a bunch of thumbnail images come up for review. It sounds as though you are seeing that part.

When I click the image I want, a Pinterest page launches in a new pop-up window. (Example screenshot attached.) Do you have very strict pop-up blocking that might be interfering with this part of the process?

Is this Pinterest button downloaded from Pinterest https://help.pinterest.com/en/articles/all-about-pinterest-browser-button#Web or is it the Firefox Extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/pinterest-pin-button/  ? ??

The Firefox Extension is compatible with version 57 If is this extension you need to contact the Developer support@barisderin.com

Exactly. The pop up comes up and shows the different pinterest pages I have. I click on the one I want and the circle goes around showing it is adding the pic but it never stops, just goes on circles.

since quantum upgrade when I am on pinterest & I click on a photo and then click on it again, it is supposed to bring me to that web page where the original article or photo was. It brings me to the page but it does not load. I get a blank white page. The url is in the address bar but I get a blank white page. I have tried quite a few different photos from different web sites on pinterest I can't get to those pages. It works fine with other browsers, I am on Windows 7. I tried uninstalling firefox quantum and reinstalling and that did not help. I use this for my business. Please help

I am logged in, I tried unchecking pop up blocker with no luck.

Hi Louise888, sometimes a blank page indicates a blocked redirect. Could you check the setting here:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste access and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the accessibility.blockautorefresh preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to true, double-click it to restore the default value of false

If that's not it, could you right-click > Copy Link Location on a sample link in Pinterest that doesn't get you all the way to the destination and paste it into a reply?

I did this: tIf the accessibility.blockautorefresh preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to true, double-click it to restore the default value of false It wasn't bolded and set to false. Here are the links on Pinterest. I log in and go to one of my boards: https://www.pinterest.com/ravenandcrone/cakes-and-cupcakes/ then I click on a photo and I land here; https://www.pinterest.com/pin/572449802628738510/ and then I click on the photo and it should take me to the web site that posted this pin and a new tab opens to here: http://www.plainchicken.com/2011/10/lemon-pound-cake.html but the page is blank

Hi Louise888, that cake looks good...

Does the page also load blank if you follow a link from this site?

http://www.plainchicken.com/2011/10/lemon-pound-cake.html

If so, I think this is a different issue that the original question about the functionality of the Pinterest site itself.

If it's only blank when you are referred from Pinterest, well, that's really hard to explain.

I can get to the page with the link you sent me. The thing is all worked fine before the FF upgrade. So it is only blank when I go directly from Pinterest. I get the proper url in the address bar but the page stays white. Which means I can't for example get the recipe ingredients and what it means for my crystal/stone business is customers may not be able to get to my website from the photos I post. I know I can't get there, I have tried. I did uninstall quantum and reinstall the old version and now that won't work with pinterest either but it did before the upgrade. So I reinstalled quantum and still the same problem. With IE or Chrome it works fine and on an android tablet it works fine. I appreciate you trying to help and hope you can figure it out.

Do either of these work?

  • click in the address bar and press Enter to reload the address
  • click in the address and press Alt+Enter to load the address in a new tab

OK great! The alt enter works. Does that tell you what is wrong with it. Now that you told me how to do it how do I get potential customers to do that. I hope the answer with the alt enter working can lead to a fix....

You are one of three people that posted about this in the past 24 hours. It's just not clear to me why a request that is linked from Pinterest won't load and a direct request will load. There's so little difference.

When you get the non-loading page, can you spot anything in it? Another user (on Mac instead of Windows) said there might be a small blue or black image in the upper left of the page. Do you see anything like that?

more options

I don't see anything like that. I attached a screen shot in jpeg for you. We only have windows computers in the house and theres just me & the hubby. I am the only one who uses pinterest. One thing I noticed there isn't anything on the right side of the page to scroll. You will see that in the screen shot. Thank You again, really appreciate this

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of mixed or unsafe content.

You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

this is for jscher2000.....I did get your response to my question about Pinterest not working. Yes, that described what is happening exactly. Address bar goes to the website, but blank page. Alt enter does work, and also right clicking and open in new tab works too. Thanks, but I hope they find a fix to this bug because I go to lots of pages in Pinterest and this could get annoying.

I tried the web console and attached the result in a screen shot. Not sure what I was looking at. as far as the network monitor that is a bit above me and was to complicated to follow the instructions

I, too was puzzled by this. I looked at my extensions and saw Block Site, which I disabled. It now seems to work fine.

hey thanks! I am anxious to try this, but where do I find extensions??

more options

Extensions is Tools/add ons/ and you will see extensions on the left. But that did not work for me because I only have the pin it button extension that I just added

Thanks. It did not work for me either ;(
