Yesterday (5/19) on both my wife's computer and mine, (her email is chkalajainen@verizon.net) stopped bringing in new messages from our Verizon account. We are still getting our emails on our cell phones.

We recently had received instructions from Verizon to change our incoming server setting to pop.verizon.net and use port 995 (we had been using port 110), and the outgoing server to smtp.verizon.net with port 465 (same as previously).

The problem with thunderbird began prior to my making these changes. The last new message I was able to bring in was at 9:37 pm EDT.

I then made the changes to the Verizon account settings and this did not correct the problem with Thunderbird. The emails are still coming in to both of our cell phones, but not on either of our computers. Thunderbird recently updated itself on both our computers, so is there the possibility of a conflict or bug? Something changed that we had nothing to do with, but that has stopped our Verizon accounts from working with Thunderbird, although they still work on our cell phones.

Please post this info: In thunderbird Help > Troubleshooting Information click on 'copy text to clipboard' paste info into this question. you can edit/remove all info on fonts and printers, but nothing else.

If you get any error messages when trying to GetMessages or Send messages please post the error message...word for word.

Also check your fiewall/Antivirus program to make sure Thunderbird is set to 'Allow' example: I use Norton Anti-Virus/Firewall. Sometimes, after an update, Norton still thinks it can allow only the previous version. I then have to close Thunderbird and access Norton. Settings > Network > Smart Firewall > Program Rules Locate Thunderbird and set to 'Allow' On one occassion, I have had to block, ok and then reset to Allow.

If you use another Firewall/Anti-virus program, then there will be similar settings. So check this first.
