The Minimize, Maximize, and Quit buttons on the top right hand conner don't respond window is already maximized (not the Ctrl F11-maximized). Also, double clicking on the empty space between the tabs and those buttons doesn't toggle between the maximized and smaller sized window.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Hi Cor-El

It works in the safe mode (after using the default theme), but as soon as I add a new tab (Ctrl-T), the same problem happens again (even in safe mode).

Upon further testing, it appears the same thing also happens even in a smaller (not full size) window, on top of that - now I also can't move or resize the window.

Tried it and still didn't fix the problem.

I also tried both of these things, and neither worked. For me, the Minimize, Maximize, and Close buttons work when I first start up Firefox 7.0.1 (Windows 7), but cease to work when I: 1) add a new tab, or 2) log into Twitter which is already open on another tab. I tried these things: 1. Started Firefox in Safe Mode (add-ons disabled) - problem persisted; 2. Deleted localstore.rdf from my profile - problem persisted; 3. Disabled the theme I had downloaded and returned to the default theme - problem persisted; 4. Disabled the Personas extension and restarted - problem persisted.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

The problem spontaneously resolved itself without creating a new profile.
