I think it was after using Chrome instead of Firefox as I usually do that I found my search bar had disappeared. I eventually got it back by >Customize >Restore Default. But it was previously below the address bar and I can't find how to re-position it there, where I'm used to finding it. [Using Firefox 47 and don't want to upgrade from there]

The search bar is normally positioned to the right of the location/address bar, but you can move this search bar to another toolbar.

Note that you can also consider to move the search bar to the "3-bar" menu button drop-down list via Customization mode or via the right-click context menu of the magnifier icon (Move to Menu).

You may have accidentally removed button(s) from the Navigation Toolbar.

If you right-click a toolbar item in normal (non-customize) mode then you can remove this item from the toolbar.

  • "Remove from Toolbar" will remove this item from the Navigation Toolbar and moves it to the Customize palette ("3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize)
  • "Move to Menu" will move this item to the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list
  • "Move to Toolbar" in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list will move this item to the toolbar

You need to create another toolbar to place the search bar on.

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar. Look for Show / Hide Toolbars at the bottom left.

Why are you using an old version of Firefox?

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Flash Player Version: 24.0.0.186
