Hi,
Starting less than a week ago Thunderbird has been running slowly. Sometimes it's quite noticeable and sometime not so much. E.g. clicking on a different folder sometimes happens immediately and sometimes takes maybe 4 sec. to display the folder. Clicking on a message sometimes displays it immediately but can take 7 or 8 secs. to display. Receiving messages seems normal and I haven't noticed slower speeds sending. Clicking on Reply for a message can take several seconds, and dragging a message to a different folder can do the same. Once I'm editing a message the edit speed is normal with no slow down and the address book and editing filters are both fast. I didn't make any changes to Thunderbird, this just started happening on it's own.
I'm running Thunderbird ver. 128.4esr (32-bit) on a windows 10 desktop PC using POP to access messages. I ran Compact on all the folders to no benefit. I don't know what else to try.
Please let me know how to correct this or figure out what's going on.
Thanks, Mike

I recently upgraded my OS from WIN 8.1 to WIN 10.0. Previously, I had installed Thunderbird in order to download my Gmail messages etc and import them to TB locally for archival purposes. When I upgraded to WIN 10.0, it was a clean install so TB and all the data was deleted. I have backups of the Gmail files I previously imported to TB but it seems the instructions are not clear on how to get them back into TB locally. I want to be able to search and read these emails when needed, since I deleted them from the Gmail server

On my old small laptop I wanted to increase interface font size. Erroneously thought that in layout.css.devPixelsPerPx I could insert the desired font size. I have inserted 12, now Thunderbird is unusable, some giant menu words appear but I cannot move anywhere. Can I I edit a configuration file manually to reset to a readable size? Which?

Made a mistake by changing user_pref("layout.css.devPixelsPerPx" from I think - 0.5 to +0.5 as incoming emails font was miniscule, but made nor difference... so thought it may be a font size, so changed to 12.... Now ginormous and unreadable. Searched through pages here for an answer and got to the prefs.js folder to find this file but it is not there.... I searched with notepad edit search for "layout" but no luck. Any ideas anyone? I tried adding the line user_pref("layout.css.devPixelsPerPx", "1.5"); whilst TB was closed and then opened TB but had made no difference.. :-( Any ideas anyone? TIA Graham

The inbox font in the Thunderbird email client on my Mac is super tiny, and it's very hard to read. I can't figure out how to make it larger. Is there a way to do this? I really like Thunderbird so far, but if I can't read it, I can't use it.
Thanks! Mark

Hello
I have an issue with an e-mail, that has no content (see picture 1). I received this e-mail yesterday and could read the text, sender, etc. Today, the e-mail was completely empty so I forwarded this e-mail from another device to myself and the content is there (see picture 2). What is the problem respectively what should I do in the settings (or whereever) to avoid such problem?
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards Gregor Danielak

I'm running Thunderbird 128.4.3esr (64-bit) under Windows 10, and have been a Thunderbird fan for at least 2 or 3 years. I can't believe that, up until now, my outgoing messages were all just very short, but after a recent Thunderbird update I now am interrupted when composing an email message, with a notification that my message is being saved in the Drafts folder. This is somewhat annoying, can that be turned off? I have saved composed message to Drafts manually on many occasions, so I don't want to kill that function entirely, but I'd like to dispense with that pop-up notification that breaks my fragile train of thought. Thanks in advance for any tips.

There must be a way to include links to local files in a message. All of our team use the same file-server and we mapped a network drive. Long ago it was easy, I just installed the local link extension. After that stopped working someone told me to insert it as a 'link' which worked for a while. Now that doesn't work either. Maybe i just don't know how. I searched for 2 hours and found nothing but ancient directions - even the ones for two years ago don't help anymore. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

For the past few weeks I have been having a lot of trouble sending emails either as a new email or a reply or even accepting a calendar invite. The sending function pops up a box saying it is sending the email but the send times out after about 30 seconds. If I keep hitting the SEND button after each timeout it eventually works. Receiving new emails works without issue.
I am running a current Windows 10 pro using Thunderbird 128.4.2esr 64 bit with a basic Windows firewall and AVAST antivirus.
There are two different email providers, Gmail and Bell Sympatico, so I have two outgoing SMTP servers defined. This has been my setup for many years and I haven't knowingly changed anything in Thunderbird settings related to this issue. I think the last change I made was to set the OAUTH option for GMAIL a couple of years ago. I am attaching two screen shots to show the outgoing SMTP server settings.

Some months ago, my email account with Cox.net (pop.east.cox.net) was transferred to Yahoo (imap.mail.yahoo.com). I was able to keep my existing email address (billdinger@cox.net) but in the process, all my pop email at Cox disappeared from Thunderbird. I haven't had time to address this till now.
I have located all the "lost" email under the Thunderbird folder in the C:/Users subfolder. All the mail can be found under C:\Users\Dinger PC\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\ditb93lv.default\Mail. All the mail is in a subfolder called pop.east.cox.net and is either individual files (.msf) or located in separate folders with .sbd extension.
I tried moving the .sbd folders over to the currently active imap.mail.yahoo.com but after restarting Thunderbird several times, they still don't show up. Maybe because they are not on the yahoo server but just on my computer.
There has to be a way to recover these emails and get them into Thunderbird. Can you help?
Takes a long time to load mail. Never had this problem before. Says checking mail server capabilities defense. Then takes awhile to get mail?

TB 115.10.1 I have several accounts which all work fine, however when I go in to Troubleshooting information and open my profile folder it is only 2Gb in size. All my mail accounts and associated files are located in a separate 92Gb profile directory with the same profile name (I know where it is). I want to consolidate all this information in to a single profile directory on another faster SSD on my machine.
Creating a new profile mapped solely to a copy of the 92Gb profile folder copied to the new SSD doesn't work -no email accounts display.
If I then add only the set of files in the main directory of my 2Gb profile in to the newly located copy of the 92Gb profile on the faster SSD all works fine, however if I add a new mail subfolder and I can see the name of that new sub folder is located back in the original 92Gb profile on the old hard drive.
How do I fix this? The working 2Gb profile folder is mapping all my mail and accounts to a different location and I can't find out where TB gets the information telling it where the main mail store is. I want to move this main mail store in to the location of my working profile and move the lot to the faster SSD. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm a Thunderbird novice.
I had Thunderbird working to allow me to read and write messages to the Quicken newsgroup.
Something went wrong (Thunderbird was displaying the Quicken newsgroup name twice - in the left column), but clicking on either of the displayed names produced a blank screen. It did not matter what the read/unread setting said: no messages diaplayed.
So I tried reinstalling Thunderbird - which is requiring me to set everything up again. I struggled to get setup the first time, and this time I'm getting almost nowhere.
First: Thunderbird setup my email account even though I don't want to use Thunderbird for my email. I'm hoping that's just a minor annoyance, though I'd like to get rid of the Thunderbird email account.
But I am not getting anywhere setting up the Newsgroup.
I'm trying to use www.eternal-september.org to get messages from the newsgroup alt.comp.software.financial.quicken - which was working fine before I had to reinstall.
Is there a simple step-by-step guide I can follow to achieve my goal.
