Firefox won't read PDFs after refreshing
I refreshed my FF a few days ago, and now it won't open PDFs. It forces me to save. I went to preferences for applications and there is no option on PDF to have FF open them. I work with a lot of PDFs so it's very time consuming not to be able to open them in FF. I was told that the Adobe plugin won't work with 64-bit systems; is that true?

In the address bar there is a padlock icon (but not always) I clicked on that then 'more information' then 'permissions' then changed adobe reader to 'allow' So now all attachments open. I then checked 'do this automatically from now on when the file opening dialog box came up. Thanks to everyone who contributed. Permissions is not clickable when I click on the lock. I don't want it to open in Adobe Reader. I have it set to open in Foxit. I want it to open in the browser.
You can try to copy the mimeTypes.rdf from the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop to the current profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory:
Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
This is a comedy of errors. I just deleted the old firefox data folder and ran CCleaner, so it's gone for good. On the upside, it cured the Simple Timer problem.
I've had a really crappy few days. I'm going to go watch some t.v. and go to bed early.
Thanks for trying to help.
