The current and previous new versions of FF do distort the colors of uploaded photos.

This does not happen when using FF51 on the same system, same for mobile phone with Android.

How can this be? How can it be switched off, so that pictures are uploaded as they were originally?

Generally speaking, this type of problem is usually caused by whatever website you are attempting to upload them to. To save storage space on their servers, most websites will compress your uploaded photo. This may impact the quality of the photo.

In this situation, perhaps it would be beneficial for you to upload two screenshots for comparison. One would be the image displayed in the working browser and the other displayed in the distorted browser.

Any website where pictures are uploaded from the NEW FireFox is getting distorted pictures.

Any website where pictures are uploaded from the OLD FireFox 21 to 51) is getting the correct pictures.

It has nothing to do with compression at the receiver's end, that is a nonsense excuse, since I outlined the exact conditions.

Is the new FireFox changing the composition in any way, and if so, where can it be reset to "normal"?

Firefox (to the best of my knowledge) doesn't modify the data that you are sending to a website. So there's no reason that images uploaded should be any different depending on the Firefox version you upload.

I've tried, but haven't been able to reproduce the issue that you are having. Can you please upload a comparison of how the images appear on the different versions of Firefox to highlight the issue?

The only thing I can recommend at this point is to try running Firefox in Safe Mode. Perhaps there is an extension installed on Firefox that you aren't aware of and perhaps it's causing the issue. This could explain why it's only present on the newer versions of Firefox, since the add-ons that Firefox uses now wouldn't be compatible with the older versions of Firefox, so they would be disabled in the older version.

Researched it a bit further: it seems to happen on JPG files, not PNG files. Attached two screenshots, one jpg with old FF, one with new FF. You can see easier on the background that the distorted one has a rosy nuance which hence transforms the blue into green.
