I get this problem periodically where I have blank emails that cannot be deleted that show up with a date of 12/31/69. Here is a pick of a recent episode.

I use Thunderbird. Whenever I create a new folder in the email account I have set up in Quaker Meetings Network (QMN), url https://quaker.app, it is appears as a sub-folder of Inbox, but I want it to be a folder at the top level of the email account. I can do this with the other email accounts I administer with Thunderbird, in gmail.com and phonecoop.coop. Why can't I do this with a QMN email account? QMN say this is an issue with Thunderbird -- they are able to create "top level" folders on other email software such as Outlook

on Thunderbird 115.16.3 (32 bit) I have a problem: only approximately the first half of the RSS feeds I've set up get downloaded.

Download always stops at the same feed.

The other don't: I have for each one to right click and choose download.

This happen since last, last by one or last by two updates: I'm not sure. Before it worked perfectly. I've cleaned the startup cache, but the behavior is still the same.

How can I solve the problem?

Bei der Installation von Thunderbird auf meinem PC gibt es Probleme. Leider kann Ihr Server mein Programm nicht anmelden. Die Konfiguration ist angeblich nicht korrekt. Vor einigen Jahren habe ich schon einmal mit dem E-Mail Programm Thunderbird gearbeitet. Offensichtlich sind in Ihrem Server noch die alten Daten (Passwort und Benutzername) gespeichert. Bitte löschen Sie diese und geben Sie jetzt die neuen Daten ein. Bei der jetzigen Installation handelt es sich um eine Neu-Installation auf einem anderen Computer.

Freezeing (no response to GUI commands) in Kubuntu 24.04

After I upgraded my system to Kubuntu 24.04 thunderbird started eating CPU (150+% CPU usage according to htop). Because I couldn't tell if the culprit was the new KDE or the old profile, I tried to create a new profile, blow away the KDE config, etc. I also tried downloading the latest version of thunderbird from the website. Nothing helped.

I was able to replicate this problem using the in-memory, fresh KDE.

To replicate: Create Kubuntu 24.04 install USB. Boot from this USB. When asked to install or try, select "Try Kubuntu".

Start Thunderbird.

When prompted to create an account, select cancel. Go into settings, to the bottom, and select Maildir for file storage. Quit thunderbird, and start it again. Create account (select configure manually, enter the information for imap and smtp host, STARTTLS, detect authentication. My username does not contain an @, if that makes a difference). Select "Re-test"

Try to read mail. You will quickly notice that Thunderbird is consuming > 100% CPU, and UI is non-responsive.

Restarting thunderbird does not help.

netstat -tupane shows one or two connections to my imap server port 143, but wireshark doesn't show any traffic on port 143

Not that I think it matters (since I can't get Thunderbird to start seriously downloading from the server) but I have a big ( >100G) Maildir behind my courier server.

Note that I see this problem both with the version on Kubuntu 24.04 install USB, and the latest version downloaded from the thunderbird website.

While writing a new message with TB 128.5.0esr (64 bits), under windows11, the action "Insert Web link" make the TB windows freezing, and there is no way to close it out of killing TB process in the task manager.

The only way for now to send an email containing an hyperlink is to start TB in Safe Mode .

Is somenone has an idea for that issue as the functionnalitie was well working in previous TB versions .?

I have an issue where, from one day to the next, one of my employees lost the "open thread in a new tab" option. This option was available when right-clicking on a message and then selecting "open/open thread in a new tab." The option no longer works in the "inbox" folder, but it does still work in individual subfolders.

I select 'Date' and the 'sort by' line flashes but nothing is affected. reselecting 'Sort by' shows 'From' is still selected. How can I get out of this situation, please? Am I doing something wrong? Hi, I have started to use Thunderbird Mobile (Android) and it looks great. One thing I miss (or can't find) is the print option. I have it in my other apps and it works perfectly in my other apps. I can find a share option but there is no print option in that one. Am I missing something or is it just not a print option in Thunderbird Mobile yet?
