You may be referring to one of my earlier posts, where I quoted your original post.
I'm not a huge SciFi fan and I have absolutely no idea what's going on here, so I am leaving you in the capable hands of my colleague(s) to solve you downloader problem(s).
Hi there. First, what is saying you have malware? A web page? Pop-up?
. Whenever you get a message / popup like that;
DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS OR ANY PHONE NUMBERS ! !
Such messages are only Spam that could lead you to Fake Support. Not only can they damage or hack your system, they charge you to do so.
You can report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery

I have no idea why McCOy is going off in a tangent about sci fi because l think my English is pretty clear.
Is there anyone that can tell me why when I down load my video that it won't play on Quick time?
No I haven't gotten that message and am so glad that we are not discussing si fi.
It says quick tiem player can't open " name of file- mp4. I have never seen this before
As for YouTube, I use an external program; https://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm
For a player, I use http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ This can play almost any file.
One question that I can answer :
You want to know what "Shockwave Flash" is - it's a plugin.
Adobe Flash Player is installed on your system, and it shows in Firefox menu (Preferences) => Addons => Plugins as "Shockwave Flash".
You (still) need Flash on some websites, e.g. to play games, but YouTube doesn't use Flash anymore, it uses HTML5.
For more information about Flash see :

I am not going off in a tangent, was merely trying to be funny ....

I sent FredMcD a private message and asked him to come to your rescue, like I said I would.
@Mc Coy as long as that is not the plug in that is shutting down firefox, then i will leave it there. I have never played any video games
This is the first time Quick time won't play a clip It is from material that played many times before. I was just trying to get my material from youtube
@ Fred McD WHen I went to the video payer url, it says convert PDF files for free Am not clear how that will play a film
This discussion is really difficult to follow.
@why did you deactivate my downloader: Instead of posting back and forth, a screenshot would be really useful to help you any further.
difficult for me to follow as well I am trying to play the video that it took all afternoon to download. It won't play on quick time and when I click on VLC media player, nothing happens.
I just want to play my video or load it into premiere pro I won't do either
@why did you deactivate my downloader: Sorry, I went through your replies, but I still don't get it. To me it sounds like you have successfully downloaded your video file using Firefox.
You question seem to be related to Quicktime, VLC and Premiere. It's much more a video codec related question.

Thanks for your reply. No it has to do with what I downloaded with firefox. Nothing recognizes it. Never had that problem before. Never had that problem with the previous version of the firefox downloader
Are you sure the "video download" has NOT interrupted? Your file download could be incomplete.
Please share a link to your video. It's impossible to help you any further.
@ Fred McD I just bought https://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm premium. When I try to down load my youtube movie it tells me to buy premium again How may times do I have to buy premium?

You have to get in touch with https://www.dvdvideosoft.com/faq.htm. The issue is not related to Firefox. You can't expect support from a Third-Party product on Firefox Support forum.
I am hoping firefox can tell me how to download my video so I can play it. It is 34 minutes long. Is that the issue?
