Hi, I installed firefox version 4 and from then onwards i am not able to view streaming videos on my facebook. Though i'm not facing any problem in viewing Youtube videos on facebook. As soon as I click on the video to view, I am getting a pop up, asking me to download. If I am not interested in downloading and if I cancel the pop up, I am getting a message displayed on the screen "The video you requested cannot be loaded. Please try again later". Please help me and resolve the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Hi, I have implemented both the methods you have suggested. Still it's the same. Even in the safe mode, i am facing the same problem. I didn't have problem before installing Firefox 4.0 version. Suggest me some other ways to solve it.

Thanks in Advance.

Do those files have a specific file extension or does the download dialog mention a MIME (content) type like "This file is xxx"?

Do you have security software (firewall) that might be changing HTTP response headers to make Firefox think that the file need to be downloaded?
