Installed Snow Leopard on Mac to bring up to 10.6.8. Then updated Firefox and updated so now at Firefox 20.0

In addition I frequently get the message "Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page.

I had neither of these problems with my previous version of Firefox.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I guess that is related to the Yahoo Toolbar add-on. Try disabling that add-on and see if that message stops.

For your 2nd issue, usually indicative that Firefox is closing completely before the computer is turned off.
How are you closing Firefox? File > Exit or other?

When I turned off the Yahoo Toolbar and restarted Firefox, I did not get the script message. However, I like the toolbar and found it handy. Any suggestions?

I go Firefox>Quit Firefox to sign off. Of course, the problem hasn't happened again, so I will wait and see if it pops up again.

A possible cause is that you are first closing all Firefox windows and then close the Firefox application.

Some have reported that closing Firefox (Firefox > Quit) while the browser window is still open works for them.

If this still doesn't work properly then you can consider to disable crash recovery, but note that you will lose open tabs in case a real crash occurs.
