when I open Firefox I get asked for a donation $5,$10,etc

hello pirate21, you're seeing the end of the year fundraising campaign by mozilla on the default firefox homepage. it is only scheduled to run for another few hours but if it disturbs you you can of course also set a different homepage: How to set the home page
