AOL toolbar has disappeared
When I opened Firefox this morning, I noticed that the AOL toolbar has disappeared. Is there a problem with the toolbar because when I click on "About Firefox" it has "43.0.2-Mozilla Firefox with AOL toolbar" and that it is up to date. Yet I don't see the toolbar. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, it's odd that your "About Firefox" dialog mentions the AOL Toolbar. Something must have been customized somewhere...
Displaying Toolbars
In case the toolbar is running but hidden, you can use one of these methods to show the toolbar list and select the desired bars there:
- right-click a blank spot on the tab bar (or the "+" button)
- tap the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar > View > Toolbars
- in Customize mode > Show/Hide Toolbars (see: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars)
To turn on a bar, click it on the list.
Check Status
If the toolbar is not on the list, please open the Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then check the list on the right. Enabled extensions are listed first, then at the bottom, the disabled extensions. Can you find the AOL Toolbar anywhere?
If it has a Disable button, it is already enabled but apparently there is a problem with it.
If it has an Enable button, try that.
If it does not have an Enable button and mentions that it could not be verified (it is not digitally signed), that could be the problem. Firefox 43 requires that extensions be digitally signed by the Mozilla Add-ons team, otherwise, they are disabled. (More info: Add-on signing in Firefox) Many publishers are still working through that process.
I don't know whether an update is available for the AOL Toolbar extension, but that would be the first thing to try.
Make Exception
If you confirm that the problem is a lack of signature, but no update is available to resolve that, you can make a temporary exception to the signing requirement. This is global for all extensions, there's currently no way to only make an exception for one specific extension.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste xpin and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the xpinstall.signatures.required preference to switch it from true to false -- note that this is for Firefox 43 only
