Observed:

I use Firefox 133 on Mint 22, I have 2 browser profiles. When I access Atlassian Confluence (any confluence page under atlassian.net), the page content is loaded, but then disappears and I get the following error at the top of the page: "This page was in the background for too long and may not have fully loaded. Try to refresh the page"

This only happens in one browser profile: in the other, all the pages open correctly and quickly. When I open a private tab using the problematic browser profile, again all the pages open correctly.

I have tried clearing all atlassian.net and atlassian.com cookies and data from the browser privacy settings, disabling all extensions, restarting the browser, even restarting the computer, but to no effect.

Expected: Confluence pages should open using any browser profile.

Reproducibility: 20+ out of 20+ attempts

Workarounds:

Temporarily use the other browser profile or a private tab, although that way I don't have the benefit of using browser history and if I kill the browser while using private tabs, private tabs will not be restored, so I lose track of what I was working on. I could use a different browser for confluence, but that has the same history problem and is generally senseless: Confluence should work correctly using any browser.

Notes:

I have seen similar issues 3-4 times before with Confluence, but it was always due to extensions, so disabling the problematic extension or configuring it to ignore anything related to Atlassian was sufficient. I would report this to Atlassian, but they'll just say "it works with a blank browser, so it's not our bug" and they're probably right. There's some kind of Atlassian-related state being preserved in the problematic browser profile, but I can't pinpoint it, so any help there is welcome.

Firefox forgets info when I'm trying to log in and have to switch to open a text message containing a sign in code. By the time I've read the message Firefox has closed the page I'm on and I can't retrieve the info. When I try to log in again, I have to switch to open a text message and Firefox closes again.

This does not happen with Safari, so I'll start using that.

Goodbye stupid Firefox.

Hello,

When I open the developer tools (using F12) and I check the disable cache checkbox of the network tab, I get CORS errors saying that `Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at https://<my-resource>. (Reason: CORS header ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ missing).`.

From my understanding, since the requests triggering the errors have the `Cache-Control` header set (due to the cache disabling), these requests do not qualify as simple requests (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/CORS#simple_requests). That’s why the server (AWS CloudFront) does not return CORS headers. However, I do not understand why Firefox did not send preflight requests (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Glossary/Preflight_request) in these cases.

Did I miss something? Or am I hitting a bug in Firefox?

Regards

My WSJ.com user info correctly loads the Wall Street Journal front page. When I click for a particular story, Firefox often loads the page but immediately erases it and says, "Application error: client-side exception. See console for further information." It does not happen every time, and I have not encountered it with any other website.

I use the latest Windows 10 and fully updated Firefox.

There seems to be a link missing when viewing LinkedIn profiles using Firefox. In MS Edge, I have the option to click on 'see more' to view the full 'About' section, whereas this is not showing in Firefox (attached screen-shots refer). I've contacted LinkedIn, who say that it's not their issue! I certainly used to be able to expand this section in Firefox; not sure why that functionality is no longer there. Any suggestions? Many thanks for your help.

For a while now (over a year), after using Firefox for YEARS, I am having LOTS of trouble logging into my Online Citibank. I am using 64bit version of Firefox. I go to citi.com and put my Id and Pw in, then signin. I see the page loading, with Citi webpage boxes showing Just as Shadow/Boxes for a moment or two, then I get a You Successfully Logged out!! Try again. Same. I believe that I have Sometimes gotten something about Logged Off for Inactivity. If I am able to QUICKLY Click on one of the Shadowed Boxes, I get ON my Citi webpage and am able to do my banking, without further problems. I have Cleared my Cache and Other suggested (from reading problems from other users) fixes, but NOT fixes. I do NOT have this problem on ANY OTHER websites! So, some conflict with Firefox and Citibank. I WAS able to login, with NO problems with Microsoft Edge. Didn't try Chrome.
