Blacklisted email
Windows 10, Thunderbird 91.5.1. Comcast. Error messages: "Login in server 1map.comcast.net with user name...failed." "...temporarily blacklisted." If I restart my computer, the email works for a time. The only change I have made is using a Norton VPN; if I turn it off, email seems to work. I can get my email from Comcast or by restarting my computer but that is a pain. I have been using Thunderbird for years with no problems when suddenly this one popped up. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The main purpose of a VPN is to mask your location, so it's no surprise that mail providers block connections from users who attempt to bypass the authentication process, even if there is no intent on your part to do so.
Unless you have explicit instructions from Norton and Comcast to configure TB to avoid being blacklisted, simply disable the VPN while TB is online. Click the Offline icon at the left end of the Status Bar to toggle TB's status.

i suggest you contact comcast about the blacklisting, and check to see what options exist in the VPN, possibly on a Norton forum.
