After downloading Adobe Flash Player ver 10 and installing [3 times] it I still can't get FF to play vids at web locations.

I tried all I know but I need some steps to get this working.

There are two versions of Flash, the ActiveX version for IE, and the Plugin version for other browsers. The Adobe website supply's the correct version based upon the browser being used at the time of the download. You need to install the Plugin version.

1.Download the Flash setup file from here:
Adobe Flash - Plugin version.
Save it to your Desktop.

2. Close Firefox using File > Exit
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure firefox.exe is closed,
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}

3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.

The instructions as to how to download the plug-in version of Flash does not seem to work using FireFox. I closed FireFox and used IE 8 32 bit version to download and it worked like a charm. Spent hours trying to get this accomplished and can't explain why it would not work with FF. I am running Windows 7 64 bit version. When finished, was able to see both versions of Flash (Active X and plug-in) in my control panel.

The link I provided on Jan 10th should work to download the correct Plugin version of Flash. Adobe usually supplies the correct version of Flash for the browser being used at the Adobe website; how you got the Plugin version when using IE is beyond me.
