Error message - cannot get AOL mail any longer
Hello. Up until a day or two, I had no issues getting AOL mail in Thunderbird. Now all I get is the following message - "Unable to connect to your IMAP server. You may have exceeded the maximum number of connections to this server. If so, use the Advanced IMAP Server Settings dialog to reduce the number of cached connections". I tried and did nothing. I also have Gmail in Thunderbird; that is no issue at all; it is just the AOL mail I cannot retrieve. I have searched for answers to this issue and found none. It seems like the last update of Thunderbird is when it started?? There was also a Windows update recently, as well as a Dell update. What can I do to get this resolved? Thank you for your help!

Servers have a maximum number of cached connections. That message was from the server. You needed to close all connections to force server to close them. Exiting Thunderbird would force all connectons to close. Although sometimes there is a short delay whilst server catches up and properly closes them. This can sometimes be caused by people who also use another device to access server eg: phone and this also opens up cached connections, so reaching a limit set by the server. It has been known for iphones to not close connections and requires phone switched off to close them.

In Thunderbird, go to Help > Troubleshooting Information > Copy text to clipboard. Next, open https://pastebin.com/ in your browser and paste the text there. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Create New Paste button. Post the link to the newly created paste in your next reply here.
Before I did the above request, I decided to try one more time on my own (and I am not computer literate at all lol). So I downloaded Thunderbird again, and it prompted, in a new window, for me to sign in to my AOL accounts, and wow! it all works again, and all my folders are there just as before. I have no idea what was the issue; just glad all three of my email accounts are back in Thunderbird!
